Have owned this guitar for about two years. When it arrived an internal wood brace was rattling around loose inside the guitar. It was made too short and broke free during transit putting a dent in the spun cone. I opted to make a new brace piece and fit it properly rather than send the guitar back. Dent in cone did not seem to have any adverse consequences to the tone. The guitar looks very nice. Finish is pretty good and the wood is beautiful. Tone is very rich with good sustain. String height is good for my use and no fret buzz. Update: Yesterday took guitar out of case and discovered tailpiece had broken in half right at the 90 degree bend. Have located a replacement and should be a simple repair.

I am very disappointed; bought this item based on a lot of good reviews. The first one I received was broken, then got a replacement. It is pretty cheaply put together and the sound is like something I could create with a tick and a cigar box. I tried with new, good quality strings but no difference. I don't know what it is I am missing but this don't begin to hold a torch to my Jay Turner guitar. So, from this reviewer be forewarned...it is NOT a quality instrument and the sound is atrocious.

I've owned mine almost a year now. I quit putting it in a case. I got tired of opening and closing all two latches (one's broke) 20 times a day! I grab it over MUCH more expensive instruments that I've accumulated over 40+ yrs of playing. I've even been reluctant to put it down to play my beloved piano sometimes. Yes, the strings are garbage, but that's a given in this price range. The workmanship ain't gonna win "Best of Show", but it's not bad. I like it's overall looks. Hey, it's "Depression Era" instrument originally. As in NOT expensive. I like the "tool/instrument" vibe rather than a "l'object d'art" air. So order a set of strings along with it. Upgrade the cone later if you feel the need (oh yes, big difference). Grab a spark plug socket and wail on this reso like ya mean it. It'll take it. Good low budget fun.

What a tone!

I have owned my Rogue for nearly 2 years now. In the time I have bought and sold a $600 resonator and a $800 resonator, but I kept this one. Why? Well, this monster is LOUD! It has TONE. I love the recorded sound of it. On the negative side, it does not have the sustain or sweet highs of say a regular guitar, but some of that may be because of the nature of a buscuit resonator. I play blues. The finish is beautiful. I love playing slide on this thing.
