Sounds and plays great. Sure its not the best one in the world but its probably better than the one Robin Hood used. Take off the pick guard and you get lots better sound cuz it covers up one of the F holes.

Both the ukulele and the mandolin have good construction, finish and sound quality. On the ukulele the tuners wouldn't stay in place at first, but you can easily fix this with a small screwdriver. I learned after I bought it that all the things in the package could be bought separately for the same price, but I recommend the things anyway because they are useful.

Hi, I just bought this mandolin four days ago and am loving it. I've played guitar for two years and decided to try something different. I ordered it with a case (Musicians Gear Hardshell A-Style Case) and a different set of strings. The mandolin arrived in the case and with protective cardboard around the case itself. I thought the original strings sounded fine but were a bit abrasive for doing slides; the new strings (Elixir Medium Nanowebs) sound great too and are very smooth. I would highly recommend this mandolin for anyone starting out.

I own 2! I lone one out. The other is just handy. I own another mandolin 24 x the price. Yes it's better but not 24 times. Unbelievably playable for the price. This is the one to learn set-up on too.
