Great for the cash

I bought this considering it was the cheapest tenor with a pickup. I expected it would sound like the cheapest tenor with a pickup. I was happy when I heard it. It's quite a value. If you're thinking about buying it, do it. Totally worth it. Also, I would recommend getting the AE over the regular because the pickup is nice for loud environments if you have an acoustic amp.

Great Uke for the money

I have owned this ukulele for a few months now. Acoustically, it has a nice sound to it, especially for the low price. My problem is with the pickup system. It does not sound very good amplified through a PA. With mine in particular, the pickup was very noisy, which I think is due to a manufacturing defect. If you want to get your feet wet in the ukulele world, I would suggest the non-electric version for a few bucks less. If you really like it and want to start gigging with it, I would step up to a better acoustic/electric ukulele... look into Pono ukuleles they are very reasonable priced and very high quality. This is definitely a good starter ukulele, but again save a few bucks and dont bother with the model with the pickup.

Of course, because this is not an expensive uke (if you think it is, you are sadly mistaken) you're not going to get a solid gold instrument. There weren't any flaws on mine and it's fairly easy to play. I haven't replaced the stock strings yet. I had planned to but never got around to it. They're not that bad, and the uke stays in tune mostly. The pickup pretty much sucks and it doesn't look like the one in the pic. It runs on a watch battery and hasn't died yet. It's quiet so if you're wondering whether to spend the 30 bucks or not, if you plan on recording it, go for it. I did have problems with the strap and the pickup (loose nuts and stuff). It was a sorta tough fix, and I thought about sending it back. This thing was ridiculously backorder which pi$$ed me off VERY much. Overall, I guess for the money its not bad to have.

I got this in feb. and I admit it's pretty decent. I've had some problems with the input jack but they were easy fixes. It's obviously no pro instrument. in the picture it shows the ukulele with a decent looking pickup control but it's not very good. it's basically 2 little knobish things that control volume and tone. no eq here. also it's on the lower portion of the ukulele, not the upper portion as shown. the strings that came on it are decent, but i recommend replacing them asap just cause they're factory strings.

My friend has this uke and I've got to say it's amazing. I play it all the time and it flows smoothly. If you were interested in this type of uke but do not want to spend the money for it, I would recommend the Lanikai Lu-21TE Tenor but is not electric. It's the same thing really, just lacks the ability to be electric. It's a great uke and i would recommend both.
