Been playing in the Mississippi Delta for 30 years. I have tried them all. Thought I might try something differant,.. big mistake. I always come back to the super man. The 64.

Great Fat Sound

Good sound even has bend ability close to a diatonic combine that with all the note possibilities of a 64 and you have a good harmonica...

Only complaint is that my windsavers make a little noise... most likely a very easy fix...

Fat round sound that makes diatonics seeem like toys... Big mouthpiece is very comfortable, but can slow u down a little bit, but when u go back to your diatonic you'll play even faster... more of a single note tone machine in all keys

i have been playing it for 14 years & had no trouble except routine tuning of reeds after first 2 years. the full bodied sound, the swings, pitch bends, vibros sound just fantastic.

recently i got 64 professional, but the super 64 is much better.

The Super 64 is big, heavy and unwieldly, especially if you've only played diatonics. I bought this as my first chromatic and found it difficult to play at first. It's taken me some time to get accustomed to the round holes in the mouthpiece, but with a little patience and practice this has proved to be worth the effort. The extra low notes are great(think of the harmonica on the Green Acres theme). The Super 64 has a beautiful, mellow sound.

My Axe

I've played this instrument professionally for over 20 years. It has the fattest tone of the chromatics from Hohner by my experience. I use my C tuned Super 64 to play in all keys and modes. It makes a very good jazz/blues/R&B instrument, however, I've used it with great success backing up singer songwriters and doing session work. As you break it in and it gets some miles on it, it can develope a breathy sax like quality which I like. I also like the way the reeds bend. I have no problem with clogging as others have noted. Note that no two Super 64's are alike. Quality of tone can vary. If you get a good one, hold on to it.
