This favorite of Rod Piazza resembles vintage handmade harmonicas. Modern improvements make it a joy to play. Made with pressure sealed wooden combs that never shrink, warp or expand and extra-thick brass reed plates to create a full, punchy tone. Just tuning produces the sound of vintage harps.

Best Wood comb I've ever played!

This is the best wood comb harp out there. People compare it to the Marine Band, but that's not really fair. The Vintage Harp isn't even in the same class with a Marine Band. It's more like a Marine Band Deluxe... but BETTER!

A good harp, but not a Marine Band

I don't remember why I bought this, I guess from all the great reviews. This is a very well made and nice sounding harp, but for the same price as the Marine Band from Hohner, the Hering doesn't come close for me. The tone of the MB is just to me what a harp is, nothing else from Hohner or anyone else has ever hit it and I doubt they will. If you're just starting out, this seems like it's actually made a little better than the Hohner MB, might last longer too, but doesn't come close to that tone.

Top of the line wood comb harp

I myself have converted to plastic comb harps. I find they last longer, they don't swell, and they are more sanitary. But if you are a die-hard wood comb fan, the Hering Vintage is the best model on the market. The comb is sealed with bee's wax, an upgrade you normally have to pay a premium for. The quality is equal to, or better than the Marine Band, and the price is a little less.

Bought 4 of these and 2 of them had reed plate screws rolling about inside the harp. Not very airtight, all of these had a disgusting taste like brass that you will most likley not get used to and therefore will not play the harp. Can't believe this is Piazza's favotite harmonica.

This is like a really nice Marine Band. I love the Just tuning. I love the hefty weight to it. It tastes like brass but you get used to that. The comb is nicely sealed. I have a few Seydel harps that are better but this is a good one.
