I bought this banjo to replace my old $100 beginner banjo. Unfortunately, this banjo had a buzz, and it took me a long time to figure out where it came from. This banjo has a nice sound, despite the aluminum pot, and plays fairly well. There were a couple of "made in china" tags on it, and that was a bit disappointing.

I would suggest buying a deering or some other banjo if you're just starting out.

This is my first banjo and even I can tell it is excellent quality. It has a really nice tone to it, easy to play, no buzzing strings, and btw comes with nice quality strings. Looks nice too! I highly recommend buying this banjo.

I've played guitar for about 20 years. I'm new to the banjo, so when I unpacked this banjo I was a little taken aback cause I didn't know how to set it up. After unpacking it I took off the factory strings and set it up with a set of light Martin Vega Banjo strings. Since I am new to the banjo, I accidentally broke one of the strings while restringing it. Thankfully I bought 2 sets :) After stringing it, I got it tuned and started playing it. It sounds great. I tried all the frets out and no buzz at all. I'm super happy with this purchase.

It is gibson, with another name on the headstock.. I swear all they do is just ship off the parts to other countries. AMAZING!!! DO NOT THINK TWICE!
