The Dean Tennessee AE is an "A" style mandolin with modern electronics. The Tennessee is constructed out of traditional materials such as a select spruce top, mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck, and a 20 fret rosewood fingerboard. Grover tuners make a cinch to get in tune and stay there. A Dean single coil pickup has controls for volume and tone so you can plug-in the mandolin and be heard in any setting.

I received a Dean Tennessee AE "A" Mandolin as a birthday present from my wife in 2000. For nine years now it has been a good and consistent "friend". Beautiful finish, excellent tone and good playability. For a beginner or intermediate player, this model is hard to beat. Recently after the 9 years, the nut broke at the top bass string. Have to get this repaired as I miss my "friend".

I have loved this mandolin. I bought it as a beginner mando and it has been great for everything I've needed to do. The A/E feature has been great for any type of gig. The only problem that I've had with it is that the tuners have gotten some sort of build up on them that I've been able to scrub off. Other than that, it has been a very good instrument.
